So beautiful Ruelha. β€ I need all of those words, but lately I really need these ones:
"I trust in You, Oh Lord.
Let us be Your humble stewards,
and lean not on our own understanding,
of constant anxious, meticulous planning."
Mmmmhmmm. That's the second time I have recieved that message today. Think maybe the Lord is trying to get this through to me?" Thanks for sharing. β€

I’m so glad something in this poem resonates with you….
I am pretty much a dodo at discerning the Spirit’s call….but two times ….same message…seems like there’s something in it for you ππππππ.

This wonderful poem, is one of any number of yours that I can point to, and wonder, how is it possible, she has only been writing poetry for only about one year? You mentioned you don’t know how, but I know how; it is His gift working through you for our edification.
Like you, I hated books. Poetry was for the elite intellectuals, not for the masses. WordPress has taught me differently, though I still don’t understand some of the poetry I have read.
When I was in school, I would read the book jacket, change some wording to make it mine, and voila – book report. My parents were always amazed (not) that their son was the only one in the history of education to never have homework. I hated reading, and textbooks made me freeze up with too much data, not enough fun. I longed to be outside.
As I timidly started to read the Bible, it was with this type of dread. I had to read aloud to my wife because her condition has taken away her ability to hold a book, and also to focus on a page, following words, creates an overstimulation of her brain that prevents further reading. I began reading, expecting to trip over names (which is still true, but no matter) and slog my way through. I soon found, not a Jesus devoid of emotion, but a Man with emotions, feelings and passion, there is an energy of life in the words. This is a story has passion in the words written. It was this reason that I started to add some character and emotional emphasis as dictated by the scenes portrayed, and punctuation of sentences. Reading aloud in this way brought the book came to life for us, and from then on, it was easy to engage with the words.
Another thing that made me worried, was a centuries old language version that would force me to relearn the english language to read, but these modern english language versions (NIV, NRSV, NASB) were part of what made it more accessible. Now with more confidence, after having reading the New Testament a couple times, we ventured into the Old Testament. Reading aloud I think, makes it easier. Please bear in mind, as I read with emotion and character, I am reading as if it were a good play or movie drama, not a looney tunes Saturday morning cartoon with inappropriate bodily function sound effects, (I save those for the novels).
You are right, we do read alot. We read from the Bible 1-1 1/2 each morning during and around breakfast. Once that wall I had was torn down, the reading became alive, it then became easy to read it cover to cover in 8-9 months. We have since read it multiple times. We aren’t dissecting as a scholar would, we are reading, learning as we read, and learning new things with each reading. We have certain other daily devotionals we read also in that time. Then for about 3-4 hours, spread throughout the rest of the day, we read novels. Time never existed for me before to do this, but now all my time is with her, part of our together time is “adventuring” through reading.
We don’t have a youtube account where I can make videos, which is just as well, I have a face perfect for a career in radio. We are not on any social media. This is the first place I have communicated directly online with someone (except e-mail). You though, could be on youtube, it seems some of the products you review, would be perfect for video demonstration. The way you break down the information of each product, I am surprised you are not a professional, as your disclaimers say.
As to being a bright light, I can say, without fear of bearing false witness, (the evidence makes it very clear-your posts, your interactions with those who reply, the feeling of goodwill for you from all who reply) I can say that you are a wonderful testament to your parents, an excellent role model for younger generations, and because of you, there is a man who is a proud, lucky and thankful husband, who himself wants to be a better person for you, his wife. That, good and kind lady, is an example of a bright light.
Thank you for sharing with us, the gift He gives through your mind and heart.
Beautiful written, a song that comes to my mind is Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me, melt me, mold me, use me, fill me. I will be sharing this on quietmomentswithgod

Me too….me too. I hated and still hate reading. I never read anything. All my life when friends recommend a book, I’d joking tell them I’m illiterate. I loved writing essays in school….but that was ages ago and on a very different level.π§π»…this blog was started as a makeup and recipe blog…but of the 250 posts so far, about 225 are poems. I don’t know how it went that way and I really can’t reveal the rest of it out here….but this was definitely never the plan…it never could be! π π. I can totally relate to how boring it is to read….still is actually. I only read things with ete catching pictures like magazinesππ π€£π….no more than 1 or 2 pages at maxπ€π€«…..oh yes…the names….a lot of them are sooooo trickyπ€π€π§π€π€£π….I can imagine….it must be so much fun reading the Bible and doing this together in the most amazing way….oh yes, those old English versions are really intimidating π³π²π€·ββοΈπββοΈπ….Haha….no no, I’m imagining a very nice and effective enjoyable way to digest and feed on the Word, not cartoons. It seems like time well spent…both with family and God. It’s such a beautiful combination. Maybe someday I’ll be able to do that….spend beautiful amount of quality time reading scriptures with my family. I have a feeling you’d do a fine job narrating the Bible and making it fun and engaging everyone who watches you….think about it maybe.π€©ππ€©π€©ππ€©π Oh my….those last few sentences were heavy…..I wish they come true…I really cannot accept any as of today though. But thank you so much for such kind words. I really am not a worthy recipient though.πππΌπππΌπππΌππ
Thank you so much gldn2th for sharing these bits with me. Have a very blessed evening. And really….think about YouTube….you’d be a blessing to many. I don’t know too much but I have a couple of videos on youtube that I had made long ago. I stopped as I don’t have a laptop or computer anymore since 7 months now and it’s difficult to manage video making and editing from my phone. I’m not tech savvy at all….but I could help you with bare basics if you reconsider. π€©πππ·πππ·π€©
Take care….warm wishes
