The beginning of His ministry

Ruelha 
This is a story of how He began;
this man came predestined with a plan.
First John prepared the way,
a practice we follow to this day.
Water, a sign of repentance - just done prior.
But then, He will come with the Spirit and fire.
The axe is ready;
it is time already.
It will cut down those trees at the root,
each and every one that does not bear good fruit.
With His winnowing shovel, He will thresh out the grain.
The wheat in His barn, the rest He will drain.
All the worthless chaff,
in a fire that will never go off.

Right at the Jordan after He was immersed,
heaven opened up in this verse.
The Spirit descended upon Him,
this man of clay,
filled with the Spirit from that very day.
This is my only Son; follow Him
Only after He was equipped, the same Spirit led Him,
to the test,
Just like us rest.
Conquered the flesh in forty days;
when every cell in His body was in a daze,
at His weakest the devil met Him.
Not dressed in a cape, with horns and a tail,
but offering Him everything to end His wail.
The first test represented sins of the flesh.
And even in that state, the Lord did detest.
This is the key, only the Word,
to win such a battle is what is preferred.
Okay so the Word is what you say?
I can compete with you even in this way.
So throw yourself down, and wait for angels to come.
They'll hold you up and not even your feet will get sore or numb.
Don't test the Lord;
With Him, that is not how you strike a chord.
And last but not the least,
take back, what to me was leased.
In this I will be pleased.
Worship me;
on your knee.
Get away Satan!
I will not be a patron.
Worship the Lord alone.
To Him belongs the glory throne.
The flesh, the devil and the world,
renounced at baptism, exactly these three at your feet he will try and unfold.
He knows not any new trick,
but the same old flicks.
During the test,
the Lord had nowhere to rest.
He struggled alone,
with scriptures as His backbone.

But after He overcame and conquered,
that's when the angels came.
And when He proved His fidelity, 
when He passed that test credibly,
That's when He commenced
His long awaited ministry.
This was the reason He came, right from infancy.
The people of Capernaum  have now seen the light.
Like John's message, from your sins take flight.
The kingdom is near.
And so without anything being clear,
Simon, Andrew, James and John,
at once they left their nets.
And on Him they placed every bet.
The whole country of Syria came.
And none of their efforts went in vain.
The sick, the possessed,
epileptics and paralytics,
all of them He blessed.
Yes, I said - all of them!
Healed by this man born in Bethlehem.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed reading my poem. Hmm…that’s an interesting thought. But, I can’t really learn my own poem by heart and I don’t know if anyone would be interested in watching me read a poem 🙂 But, that’s a good idea, thank you brother Matt 🙂

        1. will try that in a few months…after I figure it out. I do have 2 youtube videos out there, but they’re about different topics and I’m not really happy with them so I returned to writing which is so gratifying and much easier ….for me 🙂

        1. thank you….That’s very kind of you brother Matt. I have Zoom since 6 months now because 2 of my prayer groups started using it…but I haven’t really figured it out yet….technologically challenged 🙂 I should try to figure it out soon though….. 🙂
