And then the creature ate,
not a sign of accepting fate.
Rather a sign of trust,
that it will not rust.
No, not at all forgotten,
all that is rotten.
Not even brazen gotten,
from the cries of those unbegotten.
Just like dusk and dawn,
life must go on.
Survival in the wild,
attempting to be undefiled.
Strong was its appetite;
and food was not tight.
It ate and ate,
unlike on previous dates.
Here in the wild,
they don't see it like a little child.
It is not rude,
for this cub to chew on food.
Subdued to the pride,
the jungle rules it did abide.
But renewed each day,
all through its wild stay.
No knowledge of its true species,
the creature felt abandoned.
"How will I know,
from here where to go?"
Flock, herd, congregation or flight,
but all attempts got it stuck in a blight.
With them snakes venom spewed;
and in its own blood almost stewed.
With them wild cats and their strong paws,
it always got caught in their jaws.
With them swarms,
it always felt a bit warm;
Just until...
it suddenly became so chill.
The creature realized it was indeed goodwill;
That it escaped atop some abandoned hill.
And left all the clans;
not bothering to fit in with another plan.
Just eat and drink what the good Lord has to provide;
no more from the big animals just run and hide.
It ate and ate all on its plate.
Difficult at first,
but it quenched its thirst.
Certainly this isn't the worst;
and the platter isn't cursed.
The ravens bring meat,
Right at its feet.
The jungles don't respect petite;
this entire meal it will complete.
And then the creature ate,
and increased in weight.
And then the creature ate,
no longer falling as bait.
And then the creature ate,
refusing to fixate.
And then the creature ate,
because it felt so great.
And then the creature ate,
no longer trying to calculate.
And then the creature ate,
instead of dying through the stalemate.
And then the creature ate,
erasing all that was backdate.
And then the creature ate,
refusing to stagnate.
And then the creature ate...
"Because the jungle will always be -
with or without me."
