Ah, 2001! That year was quite the one. I remember it distinctly. Although I’d want to forget it too easily! This song released then. It was the rage. Younger days. Takes me back to my guardian angel of those times.

Dear, you're my angel
And your'e so graceful
Darling, what would I do?
Doomed, I'd be without you!
Not known you that long
Yet this bond has grown so strong

You're the perfect combination
Of love and determination
No judgement or condemnation
Just gives a recommendation
You're free to discard or listen
At the end, you make your own decision
You pay the price for your execution
However disobedient, she'll still apply the medicine

I'm telling you, this one's got angel wings
And many times, her voice in my ear sings
Especially when I want to keep far away
Just thoughts won't let me disobey
I'm pretty certain this one's not human
Does'nt take too much wisdom to discern
Like a smidgen of heaven on earth
Amongst all things disgusting and dirt

Remembering the time I made my first three thousand
After months of nothing and fulfilling all errands
Reminded me to tithe
Even before I took a bite
After months of nothing, that was all I got
So I conveniently disuaded myself and forgot
But reminded me, with angel wings
And countless blessings she did bring

Sure, you're my angel
And your'e so graceful
Darling, what would I do?

Closer than my peeps you are to me
Without you, I'd be on my knees
Life's one big party when you're all young
But recognize your angel before it's all done
When you're immature, it's all fun
But listen to your angel for the long run
A guardian through my self-inflicted incarceration
Yet, angel wings had only love and appreciation

Inspite of my behaviour
You've been my saviour
Your heart is so tender
I wish I could completely surrender
Free-will still offered unto me
Away from the fruit of the forbidden tree
You've been there whenever I've needed
Like a little child, had me treated
Responsible for all things good in my life
Even when I disregard seraphic advice

Most pastors talk the talk
But this one only walks the walk
There are still a few
Who don't just speak, but do
In the midst of it all
They won't let you fall
Agape love like I've never seen
In any other human being
So selfless and so kind
God bless your tender heart
Because you my dear are an absolute sweetheart!
