I have chosen a mashup today. These are two very popular songs from the early or mid 90s, I believe. Orinoco Flow by Enya, popularly known as Sail Away is a very serene and melodious song. Prodigy’s Smack my B***h Up is quite the opposite. Electronic music was relatively new then and I tried really hard to figure out the difference between trance and techno those days. I had a college friend who had a lot of Prodigy CDs. Back then, owning a CD itself was a big deal, let alone an entire collection. I was quite the envy in my circle as I was still in school and I had access to all these CDs {with no player but!}
The Orinoco is one of the longest rivers in South America. The instrumentals paint a serene picture of subconscious tranquility. When I hear this song, I feel like Enya is in some utopian fantasy bubble sailing away with this mystery partner. She names a few real places and some fictitious ones. I believe those are hints of the half-hearted reality that she wishes to merge with her imagination …where it’s so much better. It’s basically intermittently erratic momentary escapes from reality!
And when we fuse Prodigy into this beautiful song, it’s almost sacrilegious. But, for some reason these two marry quite beautifully. Prodigy’s doing their nerve-stimulating, almost psychosomatically-captivating music that’s exceptionally neither disturbing the pace or state of harmony meticulously portrayed by Enya. It’s like some disruptive-yet-enthralling blend! Yin and Yang! Balance of the extremes!
Like all my music-inspired poems, I suggest playing the song in the background as you read; it elevates the experience!
Prodigy VS Enya – poem by Ruelha
Sail away; sail away Out of the fray Under the shade of delusion Laying in the shadows of illusion Sail away; sail away Under the visible tide I sway Beneath the visible ripples Lay a flood of ventricles Sail away; sail away Surprisingly emerges a ray They're stationary, but there's life Don't be so harsh; corals hurt with knives Sail away; sail away All describe it in a particular way But, from the North to the South I know exactly what it's all about Sail away; sail away Get away from routine and dismay Only at the island on the moon Away from this world, to be immune These waves carry me to strange islands And suddenly, my narrow horizons widen I sail with the Orinoco Flow Wherever it carries me, I go Far beyond the Yellow Sea Everything within me is contradictory It's like I've developed a split personality Sometimes, it's just me vs me Is this my temporary alter ego? Or my heart that overrides the mind's veto? I sail with the Orinoco Flow Wherever it carries me, I go Sail away, sail away, sail away Who's the predator? Who's the prey? One's pumping adrenaline The other's infusing serotonin Disciplined enough to control these arrogant Except the wild child that causes embarrassment Dopamine, through cell receptors, they flow Debating the intricate balance of life, this Orinoco Sail away with the Orinoco flow Take me to your whimsical meadow

Lyrics of Enya’s Orinoco Flow {Sail Away}
Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away From Bissau to Palau, in the shade of Avalon From Fiji to Tyree and the Isles of Ebony From Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon From Bali to Cali, far beneath the Coral Sea Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up, adieu. Ooh ooh Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up, adieu. Ooh ooh Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up, adieu. Oh Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away From the North to the South, Ebudæ into Khartoum From the deep sea of Clouds to the island of the moon Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never been Carry me on the waves to the lands I've never seen We can sail, we can sail with the Orinoco Flow We can sail, we can sail (Sail away, sail away, sail away) We can steer, we can near With Rob Dickins at the wheel We can sigh, say goodbye Ross and his dependencies We can sail, we can sail (Sail away, sail away, sail away) We can reach, we can beach On the shores of Tripoli We can sail, we can sail (Sail away, sail away, sail away) From Bali to Cali, far beneath the Coral Sea We can sail, we can sail (Sail away, sail away, sail away) From Bissau to Palau, in the shade of Avalon We can sail, we can sail (Sail away, sail away, sail away) We can reach, we can beach Far beyond the Yellow Sea We can sail, we can sail (Sail away, sail away, sail away) From Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon We can sail, we can sail (Sail away, sail away, sail away) We can sail, we can sail Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away Sail away, sail away, sail away

SMiLes Dear Rue i love Enya Excited To See You Writing
A Poem With Her Song Even More Surprised to See Electronic
Music Mixed with it
As i Do Enjoy
That too and i must
Admit i never thought
About Mixing Enya with
Techno Yet Leave it To Rue
To Create Something New i’ve
Never Heard of before and Oh How
Enya Brings a Flow As Well as Techno
Electronic Trance Music as Really Flow
is Trance When We Open Up More of our
Creative Subconscious Minds In Ways of
Social Empathic Interpretive Artistic Spiritual
Soulful Ways of Intelligence
Now Hehe That So-called
STEM Major Intelligence
Doesn’t Touch At All And
True When Rue Writes Poetry
It’s Obvious You are Touching the
Soul Part of Mind in SPiRiT And HeART
too and i Venture to Guess there is Even More
Going on than Dopamine Serotonin And Oxytocin
Other Adrenaline Neurochemicals Mixed and Matched
With Neurohormones too For As Styx Says Too When
We Sail Away It’s really Not Extraterrestrials From Other
Planets We Hope to Meet And Greet in That Last So-Called
Frontier The Rich and Famous Are Attempting so Hard to Lift Up into
It is Our UniVerse
Within That Reflects
Deepest Oceans
Of God Water
W A V E S
Whole And
True
A Place
of Nothingness
BLacK Abyss that may
Show us it is All Our connectedness
To All that is That is the Verb of God That
Never Ends or Begins Never Finishing only
Starting Eternally Now This Heaven Within
Where We Hope to Travel With Good
FRiEnDS In A Paradise of Sailing
Away and Only Finding
This Home that
Is Always
Within
That We All Truly
Share of Creation
Eternally Now Yes Steady
Inhaling Peace Exhaling Love
For All the Mercy in Forgiveness
That Never Ends For Our FRiEnDS
And Enemies Who Fall Lower than our
Light That We Will Only Hope and Pray
Will Be THere For Us When We Fall Now too…
Giving Sharing Caring Love That Never Ends
Come Sail Away With me This is Home Here We All May Share
to Love
Care
Giving Freely
Loving Even
More Happy Eternally
Now to You Dear FRiEnD
