I’m just so happy to write this poem for so many reasons. Firstly, this song by Dua Lipa is just so fun. It’s not from my usual old depressing ancient song collection. It’s on the top charts currently both internationally as well as in India. The version I am obsessed with however, is the Indian remix of it, featuring Sukriti Kakar and Prakriti Kakar. It has these typical amazing Indian beats and instrumentals added in the background. Later, as the song progresses, it goes full bhangra with hardcore Punjabi beats and a few Hindi lines in between. I can’t stop playing this song. And guess what? This is the first music-inspired poem I am writing that falls into both – Western Music-Inspired as well as Bollywood-Inspired. Fusion is so fun. For my friends abroad, please listen to this version. I guarantee you’ll like it, if not find it better. 😉

Levitating – Ruelha

Run away with me.
Into this other galaxy.
Somewhere far away.
In peace and joy to stay.
A heightened state.
Redecide our fate.
Above this realm.
That overwhelms.
See, I'm meditating.
And now, levitating.

In my eyes there's glitter.
Not the reflection of gold or silver.
It's a reflection of your soul.
I can see you completely whole.
Naked, without things of this world.
No longer burdened or curled.
I'm meditating; I'm levitating.
It's liberating; it's fascinating.
We're up here shining like the stars.
Below us, there is movement of cars.

We're above them all.
No, it's not alcohol.
I'm meditating; I'm levitating.
Moving away from things that are frustrating.
Glitter in the skies; glitter in my eyes.
I can tell the difference between truth and lies.
Don't hide anything from me.
From up here, all I can see.
Do you feel my rhythm?
My heartbeat, can you fathom?

Look into the depths of my insides.
I've got nothing here to hide.
I'm just meditating; I'm levitating.
To join me up here, I'm nominating.
Into our own Milky Way.
Free from depression to stay.
There's glitter in my eyes, glitter in my eyes.
Reciprocate, don't be so cold as ice.
Dance with my soul.
Let's go for a stroll.

It's fascinating, yet you're hesitating.

Begin participating; it's intoxicating.
Up top, here with me.
