Review: Khadi Natural Watermelon Soap

Pricing: This soap is priced at the same rate as most regular soaps in the market. It costs INR 70 for 125gms. It is not very expensive at all considering the prices of other handmade soaps. And to be honest, I got it at a lesser price, about 48 bucks due to some discount coupons.

Packaging: The packaging is not good at all. The soap is cling-wrapped in transparent flimsy plastic with a label and that’s it.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerine, Vegetable Oils, Watermelon extracts (Citrullus lanatus)

Physical Attributes: The soap looks and smells exactly like a watermelon. The colour and fragrance is just so similar. Of course, a real watermelon has a frosted texture while this soap has a glossy plastic-like texture.

Claims: Enriched with all the goodness of watermelons, Khadi Natural Watermelon Soap gives you healthy and thoroughly hydrated skin. This handcrafted soap helps to shrink the pores, while hydrating dry and flaky skin. A natural super cooler, this soap gently exfoliates the skin and removes dead skin cells and keeps the skin thoroughly relaxed and radiant. The antioxidants in this soap promotes the immune system and keeps skin diseases at bay. This soap is also packed with lycopene and amino acids in watermelons, all are known to contribute towards achieving a healthy skin.

Observations:

  • This soap smells exactly like a watermelon. It’s a very refreshing soap for summers.
  • It’s not overtly strong or overpowering or lingering.
  • It does not lather much.
  • Does not feel dry after use. Remember although it’s slightly mild, it’s still soap, not a moisturizer.
  • 100% organic
  • 100% natural and handmade herbal soap enriched with watermelon extracts
  • SLS free {that’s why less lather}
  • Paraben free
  • Cruelty free
  • Not tested on animals
  • 100% chemical free (as claimed by the company)
  • Contains antioxidants that promotes immunity as claimed by the company.

Verdict: This is definitely a good soap which is nice and fragrant. It is a quality product that is available at such an affordable price. Handmade soaps and fragrant soaps are usually very expensive. But a good SLS free, handmade soap like this almost at the price of a regular soap is just too good. I usually don’t purchase handmade soaps because they’re just too expensive. But I will definitely buy this again and try out some more from their vast range.

    1. Absolutely, the packaging is the only sad part…it’s a flimsy cling wrap and the soap gets dented and sometimes even the packaging tears a bit in transport and handling. But, the soap in itself is great….especially when you get it at a discount. 🙂
