Recipe: Chicken Meatball Curry

Ingredients: {serves 2-3}

For the meat balls –

  • 200gms chicken mince
  • 1tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1tsp soya sauce
  • 1/4tsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste

For the gravy –

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 green chili
  • 1tsp coriander seed powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seed powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp. beaten yoghurt
  • 1tbsp cream
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  • Marinate the chicken mince with all the ingredients under the first list of ingredients.
  • Keep refrigerated for some time.
  • Then dredge in any flour of your choice and deep fry the meat balls gently. Drain and keep aside.
  • Heat a kadhai and pour some oil into it.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the onions and green chili followed by the chopped tomatoes.
  • Then add the spices powders and cook for a few seconds.
  • Cook a while and keep aside to cool.
  • Once cool, grind it to a fine paste in your food processor along with the mint leaves and coriander leaves.
  • Add this masala paste in the same kadhai with some more oil if required and cook for a while adding a little bit of water in between to prevent burning and adjusting the consistency.
  • Once cooked, add the beaten yoghurt and seasonings.
  • Add the cream last.

My mum made this dish a while ago. I cannot take credit for this one. I relished it though …and got you the recipe. πŸ˜‰ I hope you enjoy cooking and serving/eating this dish.
