Your Dream Job

Today I had the opportunity,
to speak to a member of the professional community.
He asked me a question.
That I answered without hesitation.
Of course, it was an unexpected one.
And I replied candidly as I begun.
You'd think I'd need some time to ponder.
But instantly I replied without a wonder.
If it's not too far fetched, and I had to wish upon a star.
Some day I'd really like to be an editor.
For a magazine, maybe.
Not related to politics or technology.
I didn't know that myself.
But the desire is so heartfelt.
Though, it is absolutely true.
That I haven't a clue.
But, maybe I should consciously focus.
And put some faith into this hopeless.
I know it's rather bold.
Out here to unfold.
My fairytale-like dreams and aspirations.
Maybe I should begin with a smidgen of determination.
Oh well, I'm not that stupid.
And I don't believe in Cupid.
But there's always a start.
Let's see where it leads me, my heart.
Life is full of curved balls.
So dream big, not small.

    1. Writing is so so so fun. I don’t think I can ever stop writing. The only thing better than being an editor would be getting my own book published someday….Now, I’m aware both of these seem rather far fetched and overconfident to speak out loud. But that’s why they’re called dreams, right? Besides, my mom always emphasized on these words all through my life – Never say Never! And God has been proving her right all throughout…..So hey, you never know!
But I do know that God has something beautiful in store for both you and me dear….
Take care and stay blessed. Shalom!

  1. Being an editor of a fashion mag would be fun. You very often have a fashionable look about you. The photo for this post is amazing. What’s really interesting about the photo is not only is it a great pose and your are beautiful looking at the camera, but you also have a slight likeness to Michael Jackson in your expression. It’s fantastic.

    1. That would be perfect. If I ever got to do something like that…..I’d feel like a kid in a candy store (that gives away candy for free). I’d be so content in life. 🤩🎀💖🙏🏼🤩🤞
Thank you Tim. It means so much more coming from you, being a seasoned professional photographer….especially since I love almost all of your work and am always unable to pick a fave.
Michael Jackson you say, wow. I loved him so much. As a child, I wanted to marry him…..and was hoping he’d wait for me to grow up ….my fave MJ song is Black or White….I tried perfecting the ‘moonwalk’ in vain…..so many attempts….lol😅🕺😅

        1. I dont know what to make of that JD. I understand the sentiment behind it but I guess life is SIMPLY complicated 😉😅. So you know you’re in the right lane only once you travelled that entire road…..its very difficult to foresee of you’re actually working on your dreams or destroying them or just swaying away….until you’re somewhere at the end😃😅🙏🏼

          1. Very true…but some have developed interests later in life. Not necessarily for a vocation. On a different tack, I have seen certain scenes or situations in sleep that came true 2-3 years later! Have you or any of your friends experienced this?

  2. Ruelha, your poem is beautiful. You are so talented as a writer. If it is your dream to be an editor then make it happen. Make it your definite purpose and think about it everyday. Speak it into existence. Set a goal, write a plan, and go work your plan. Will it be difficult? Yes, nothing worthwhile is easy to obtain. We live in an unlimited universe, anything can happen. Take care. Scott

  3. Growing up for me was to be married and a mom, which God has bless me with both. As I sought out God and His call on my life, I knew that He was calling me into ministry as a Pastor. It is a difficult journey at times however I am bless to be able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with so many people and to given them hope. Love your poem Rue

    1. Wow….to be married and a mom is such an important job. It goes away unnoticed with all the unquantifiable work….but it is beautiful indeed. A thankless job but one that has it’s own rewards and challenges. Bless you for fulfilling such a godly role with grace. You are truly motivating Eileen. 🎀🤩
