This poem is purely literary. Please read it with an open mind and out of respect for the written word. I feel the need to put up a disclaimer for romantic poems. To me, writing is my life. There is nothing I love more. I have always written from my heart …about topics that I am passionate about. This poem is inspired by this melodious song from the movie Kasoor(2001). I love this song starring green-eyed doll Lisa Ray, whom I absolutely adored all through the 90s and early 2000s.

Restless Heart
I have a restless heart.
You were always the one from the start.
As if from dust of the stars.
Twinkling and teasing from afar.
Twisting my arteries and veins.
In sweet tantalizing pains.

Oh, what is this effect you have on me?
I thought I could discern, but see!
Look you have me again in a frenzy.
You never really needed a key for entry.
Your name in my cells once written.
Never erased, though forbidden.

The heart never learns.
Constantly seeks you and yearns.
This is not suitable for me.
Smiling lunatically at my heart's debris.
Wounded and broken.
Yet, only of you to be spoken.

The heart does not calculate.
Though injected toxins penetrate.
I have such a restless heart.
It always beats for you from the start.
Maybe someday you'll smile,
when you think of me a while.

I see you are indeed suffering too.
I can see the pain right through you.
But, it's a different kind. 
Not for me, I'm not that blind.
Still, I really want to help you.
But, you pushed me away into another pew.

Memories will strike like a flash of lightening.
All so quickly, but none will be frightening.
Responsibilities, work, health and duties.
But beyond these, someday you may smile at my beauty.
Just the fragrance of pure love. 
Till last breath, I'll have only love.

You always had power over me.
No matter whatever happened, I refused to see.
The real world was never real to me.
When it came to you and me.
This body and soul,
is out of control.

I have such a restless heart.
You don't know how hard it is to act smart.
Only you have this power over me.
I gave you my key openly, willingly.
You used it to destroy.
And played me like a toy.

Yet, the heart does not co-ordinate. 
With the mind, it constantly debates. 
You still have that key.
But I now moved from land to sea.
Such a restless heart.
All it remembers is the good parts.

The mind is desperately attempting to interject.
But it refuses to look that way and interpret.
A restless heart is a fool.
Only trying in vain to act cool.
All it ever wanted in life was you.
You still don't realize, always just a phase or tissue.

But restless heart still don't care.
Doesn't want anything, it don't dare...
It will settle for just a smile.
Silences and gaps that words can't fill.
Oh restless heart, calm down and be still.
