FRAUD ALERT: www.shopiiee.com is a SCAM

I feel like an idiot writing this post. But me admitting my idiocy might probably save someone else from being scammed. So here goes:

I shop for a lot of things online. I’m well acquainted with the process and follow fairly good safety guidelines. I recently purchased lovely artificial jhumkas and chaandbaalis (Indian style earrings) online. So due to my search history and electronic footprint, I kept getting these advertisements of this website selling gorgeous artificial Indian jewellery. So I clicked on the link and I found it quite interesting. The website was built well. There was no problem browsing and it never got stuck or hung. It seemed legitimate to me. It was fairly easy to navigate through it and add things into my wishlist and cart. They had social media linked to it and some reviews as well. There was a mobile number that was contactable and even rang when I tried. This was the piece I was interested in. I purchased this lovely set. And then I waited in excited anticipation.

And then I waited some more. Many days passed and I realized the status of my order never changed. Now whenever I tried to contact their customer service, nobody received the calls. I messaged them. It went way beyond the delivery date and my item was still not shipped. I even messaged them threatening to lodge a police complaint. But everyone knows, no decent person here has the time or the inclination to deal with cops. I’m not saying they’re all corrupt. Sure, there are some gems out there. But everyone just wants to avoid crossing paths with them. And the scamsters know that well enough. Nobody is going to get involved with the cops unless the amount is absolutely worth the hassle.

Later I realized some of the housekeeping staff in our building lost their money to this same site. They have been getting away with this for months now. Apparently they started during the lockdown and their business just hit off really well because so many people got introduced to online shopping during that time. Also, because of the conditions, people were willing to wait a very long time to receive their orders.

Now, I paid through a wallet. Needless to say, I deleted all my information from that wallet and emptied it out completely. But they have tie ups with all the big banks. When I tried calling them, the bank and wallet customer service providers told me since I myself had authorized the payment, it was not reversible. Now, I completely understand that. But, unless I choose the really difficult and hurdle-filled legal path where I will lose at least 10 times more money in addition to the 419 bucks I already lost, there is no way I can retrieve it or take them to task.

A lady of meager means who works as a janitor purchased 4 sarees from them. She placed an order collectively with her neighbours. Since, they don’t have any bank account or online banking services, they chose their usual COD option. Victims who opt for cash on delivery receive a parcel alright. But once they open it, they find tattered, old, torn, used and abused clothes/items in there. I won’t name the other people. But, it’s really sad. Now, her neighbours are harassing her to return their money that they lost. I explained the situation to her when she asked for my advice/help (which is usually just speaking to customer service agents in English/Hindi). But, she didn’t want the hassle with cops and said she’d rather lose this way. Ever since, she curses them daily calling them ‘dogs’ and wishes some really gory and horrendous things upon them.

In a day and age where data and information is highly priced, I feel insecure knowing I shared my address and phone number with them. That is a saleable asset too.

You see, it’s not just about my 419 rupees. They have been doing this since the beginning of 2020 and duping a lot of people everwhere all through the country.

All over Facebook, you can see their advertisements pop up everwhere online. They’re scamsters. Their number seems to be registered in Gujarat because you get a message in Gujarati from the network provider when you dial. This is the number provided on their website: 9510161829

I request your co-operation. Please forward and share this article in the interest of the public. It may help someone. Maybe if this article is circulated, it may save some poor person from being tricked. Also, a little piece of advice from someone who got stung…. the economy is not in a very good condition now. After COVID, everyone has been pushed into corners and walls. So be careful with your money and purchases and choose/invest/assist wisely.

    1. I know….right?! They’re just getting away with it so easily. Their banks are functional. Money is constantly being transferred. Their mobile number is still operational. But they’re just getting away with it…..so easily. 😡🙃…I sure hope it prevents at least a few dupes🙈🦧☹

        1. I could not delete my details from the website itself but I managed to empty out my electronic wallet and my card details etc from there….which was the source of my payment.

          Did they scam you too? What happened in your case?

          If you figure out a way to cancel/re-fill the details on their (fraud) website, please do let me know. 😃🙏🏼

This same situation happened with me..as i always do online shopping, one day I saw the notification on my Instagram of this app and when I opened i saw that on very cheap price various things are available on this website. So I ordered one artificial jewellery and one hand bag..i awaited long time for my product but nothing has changed in tracking details, also I email to then which was mentioned on their website page..but no response, phone no was also not reachable….fruad bhare hai duniya mein .

    1. Yes yes absolutely….please….anybody who reads this please do not buy from that site. Also remember they can make and rebuild similar sites again with a different name. I have seen new sites with similar pictures and I really don’t know for sure but I believe they have multiple fake outlets and Shopiiee20 is just one of many…..please be careful

    1. I’m sorry to hear that…..they’re not going to deliver it. Their whole website is a scam. They’re fraudsters. I have seen similar pics that were just on their website on another new shopping website now. But since I haven’t ordered from there or had a first hand scam, I will not ruin the other site’s reputation…..just saying…..be cautions now on…..very very cautious….☹☹☹😰😰

    2. Register a complaint in consumer dispute forum. Its not going to cost you. But they will return ur money. I did. And I got it.

      Be brave and Informed customer. Put this complaint in fraud section.

      1. How did you do that? Please share it with all of us. I’d really like to know because all of the websites I came across that offer help happen to be paid legal service sites. And I did find something that looked genuine. But I really didn’t wnat to put any bank details for a reversal because that would be pennywise pound foolish for me. 419 is a relatively small amount. I’d rather lose that than jeopardised my entire savings. But I am extremely interested in knowing how

    And one more fraud website it’s name is club-famous.com please beware all of you don’t shop anything from here.

  12. Guys if u want money or ur orders register complaint in consumer dispute forum.
    Its going to work. For me it worked. I rcvd payment yday. I had ordered ear rings. and tried connecting them. They did not respond. So I booked them for fraud case. They contacted me n took details for reverse transaction. Within a week u will your rcv money.

      I just ordered but not able to track my order. I spend 1465 Rupees. My husband will scold me if he come to know that this is fraud.
      I ordered for 3000 on club factory and then I cancelled the order, a year ago. Till date I dint receive my refund. Recently PM(Modi) banned a few websites and this was one among them. If he come to know all my in laws too scold me.

      Please help me for my refund

        Yes, I had ordered a couple of things from clubfactory before until it got banned because of the situation with China. But I made my purchase about 3 years ago and at that time it was very nice. I understand 3000 is a huge amount to lose and I feel very sad for you. I don’t understand why they didn’t refund your money. It’s just horrible what happened to you.
        About shopiiee.com …..I really feel so sorry for you. As an Indian woman, I understand how anxious and terrible you must feel now. I wish somehow, anyhow you get a refund or atleast do not get into trouble at home.

          Seems like another big scam to me.

          My advice to all: Please DO NOT give your bank/card/personal details in Hope’s of refund. They should have been able to retrieve it themselves. It could be a scam.

  17. Blogs like this are so important to make most people aware. Whenever the deal is extremely attractive and the website is new we all better not try it.
    I saw an instagram ad of night suits which looked of extremely high quality at 500-600rs and instantly placed an order without thinking twice. Evolveclothings.com was the website. Days of waiting and nothing got shipped. There was only contact email id for which I got no response. I started my research and realized they had converted some meme page in to their clothing website page on instagram and it was a private account as well. After waiting for a month, I called my credit card company and they were extremely helpful and immediately returned my money as I reported it as fraud transaction as since I did not receive the service for what I paid. Credit card company did it’s investigation and apparently the merchant was unable to give proof of service provided and so I permanently got my money back.
    Now I doubt every website I see.

    however, it’s sad how these scmasters are looting hard earned money of innocents. This Shopiiee scammer has been arrested and hope all others are also arrested very soon.

  19. A bit late here to comment on this but around the same date, I had ordered something from this website for around the same amount for my mother. And yes, I faced the same issues as you. But I quickly registered a complaint with INGRAM Consumer Helpline and they contacted this website people or whatever and within 2-3 days my money was refunded.

  20. I’m so sorry this has happened to you:( If you are able to get one, in future pay with a credit card as they may have a chargeback option (they do in the UK).
    They sound very dubious. If they have your card information I would advise you to ask your bank to cancel your card and send you a new one.

      I don’t have a credit card, never had one….so I’m unsure of the regulations . But, that does seem like a better alternative for people who have that option. Thanks for sharing that useful tip 🙂
