Just say yes or no.
Because as you know,
everything else comes
from the Evil One.

Never must you, a promise break.
Or just swear on something that's fake.
Do what you have vowed.
But I tell you now, you are not allowed.

Just say yes or no.
Because as you know,

How could you swear by heaven,
the home of His throne and presence?
How could you swear by the earth, 
the place for His feet, a resting berth?

Just say yes or no.
Because as you know,
everything else comes
from the Evil One.

How could you swear by Jerusalem city
of the great king? Does that not cause you any perplexity?
You must not even swear by your own head!
Can you make a single hair black or white or drop dead?

Just say yes or no.
Because as you know,
everything else comes
from the Evil One.

It is my desire to study the four gospels. Writing poems helps me put some thought into it thereby making it fun to learn and remember. I was stuck on the book of Matthew for years and never really completed more than the first five chapters until I began writing ‘the Matthew Series‘. Now, I’m revising the contents of the book of Mathew by writing another series of poems titled ‘Inspired by Matthew‘. This one will not be as comprehensive as ‘the Matthew Series’ and may not be in an orderly sequence. This particular poem is the 15th in the series. I recommend reading the actual Bible because it’s a whole lot better than my poems. I’d be overjoyed if anyone out there would like to be part of this experience and go through the book of Matthew with me. I hope you enjoy reading each piece as much as I did writing them.   8. Just say yes or no🙌🏽 ❤❤ I read this part of Matthew’s when I was a kid and I never swore😂. This poem brought back some flash backs😃 I loved it😊

    1. Aah…you were groomed early Saron🤩😊🎀. It took a lot for me to stop swearing by things and people….not that I didn’t know then…I was just 🙃🙈🙃🙈🙃🙈🙃

          1. Good gor you😊..Yeah most people do that…sometimes they are like “swear on something you love, otherwise i won’t believe you”😂 and it’s annoying😂😂
