Description: Burberry’s Body range is a very sensual range in general. Body EDT is eloquently seductive. The advertisement conveys volumes about this perfume. I remember when this perfume was just launched at Burberry. It was somewhere in 2011. I did a very short stint at Burberry so I remember the timeline quite well. They had posters featuring Rosie Huntington-Whiteley draped in absolutely nothing but a trench coat. For those of you who don’t know who Rosie is, she’s an angel. Well at least, she looks like one and she’s walked the ramp for Victoria’s Secret. That’s a big deal because only the most beautiful girls with the best bodies get selected to be a VS angel and walk the ramp with their coveted lingerie. It feels like undeniable confidence emerging from an envelope of sweet fruits and flowers in full bloom embracing delicate, raw sensuality, almost provocatively, albeit with oodles of oomph and grace. This perfume is the scent of a confident woman. She is comfortable with her sexuality and is not coy about it. She is neither provocative nor demure. She isn’t trying hard to get your attention; her personality and charisma just happens to make heads turn. She’s the kind of woman who gets noticed as soon as she enters a room. She does not blend in a crowd; she stands out. There can be no proxy for her, because you’d definitely know if she was present at a place/event. Her sexuality is draped in sophisticated elegance that is not erotic or immodest. She is coveted by all and is aware of this fact. She isn’t the kind to follow trends; she creates them. You could wrap her in a sackcloth for all you care; everyone will want sackcloth in their closet henceforth. That’s her worth. She knows the value her mere presence brings and won’t endorse anything she dislikes. She’s not a teenage girl trying to please everyone. She’s assertive and will say ‘no’ instantly without batting an eyelid. The past does not haunt her; the future does not intimidate her. She maintains her composure with a seductively elegant poise. This perfume reminds me of Donna from ‘Suits’.
Pricing: I really don’t know why luxury brands don’t usually sell regular 50ml and 100ml bottles. They just have to do something non-standard! Burberry Body is available as an EDT, EDP, Intense and Tender. If I remember correctly, they had a limited edition version too. Anyway, they sell 60ml and 85ml bottles here and I believe they have travel-friendly mini versions too. But I’ve never really seen them. I don’t want to confuse you so I’ll list it instead.

- Burberry Body EDP 85ml, INR 6200
- Burberry Body EDP 60ml, INR 4850
- Burberry Body EDT 85ml, INR 4300
- Burberry Body EDT 60ml, INR 3900
As you an see, it is an expensive perfume.
Appearance: This perfume is all about sophisticated provocation. The bottle and packaging are luxurious and elegant just like the perfume they contain. This irresistible concoction is housed in a clear, tall, multi-faceted glass bottle with its mellow-but-glistening champagne coloured (almost colourless) love potion peeking through. It is ergonomically designed without any of those fancy/weird/ridiculous shapes. The glossy silver lid has the famous Burberry checks embossed onto it with a crystal-like glass hood encompassing it. The bottle is a beauty on its own. The packaging is forged to emulate the silhouette of the bottle, so it is like a long cylindrical, tubular canister. Remember those pencil boxes we used as kids where we had to slide out the stationary …something like that, I’d say.
Concentration: This one is an EDT. Allow me to explain this very briefly because it’s definitely an important factor when you are buying any perfume. This perfume is so long-lasting that it lingers on for an entire day. It is not some mellow pillion rider. It precedes you. The Intense and EDP versions are more concentrate and stronger than the EDT. So, you’re definitely leaving an irresistible trail with this one.
- Eau Fraiche: You’ve probably never seen this on any shelf. It’s just too mild with only 1-3% of fragrance oil.
- Eau de Cologne: This one has about 2-6% of perfumed oil concentrate. But, this one too is rather rare. It should last you around 3 hours depending on the intensity of the base notes.
- Eau de Toilette (EDT): Now, this is the concentration everybody is obsessed with. 5-15% of fragrance oil amongst other ingredients makes this very long lasting. Your clothes may refuse to part with this one for days and weeks….and if you don’t shower, maybe a day and a half on you too. But of course, that depends on the type of base notes within it.
- Eau de Parfum (EDP): With a concentration of 15-20% of concentrated perfume oils, this one is very, very, very long lasting. Yes, you will see this labelled on a few perfumes and they are mesmerizing. Most of the good perfumes I own and like just happen to be EDP. I don’t go around looking for an EDP. But, somehow although most perfumes are EDTs, I just happen to like and select EDPs. That’s also because the notes that I prefer are on the milder side and require an EDP to be delightfully enchanting.
- Le Parfum/Parfum : This one has a good 15-40% of concentrated oils and is insanely expensive. Parfums can sell for as much as INR 8000-40000. So it’s rare to come across this kind.
Olfactory Classification: Body(EDT) by Burberry is a sensual perfume that can be categorized as Chypre Fruity Floral.
Notes: I have listed the notes below. This is the most important thing you should look at while buying or selecting perfumes. Top notes are the ones you smell instantly as you spray. But, as the perfume mixes with the pheromones in your skin, accompanied with the heat from your body, it moves to the middle notes, that is the heart of the perfume; and finally what lasts is the base notes. So, it’s essential to spray some on the wrist(radial pulse point for greater heat generation), walk around the mall, finish up with the rest of your shopping probably and return to buy your perfume after the heart notes have amalgamated with the uniqueness of your body and released some of the base notes too. If you notice, this perfume begins with clean and crisp, yet sweet, fruity and floral notes. It commences with the assertiveness of absinthe engulfed by the contradiction brought upon by the apple, peach and freesia, gradually moving into more intense floral notes marrying the warmth and woody exotic aroma of sandalwood, whilst effortlessly delving into a mesmerizingly seductive base of creamy vanilla and cashmerean combined with the sensuality of amber and the longevity of alluring musk. The base is just a perfect concoction for a lingering sensual scent while the sweetness of flowers and fruits cuts right through the bitterness of the absinthe. It really is a daring blend and whoever came up with it must have really taken a risky leap of faith experimenting with so many complex aromas.
- Top notes: green absinthe, fresh apple, peach, freesia
- Middle notes: rose absolute, iris, sandalwood, tea
- Base notes: cashmerean, vanilla, amber, musk
Suggestions for optimal use: Spray at pulse points and folds. There is more heat generated at your pulse points and that helps release the fragrance. So, spray behind the ears and under your armpits, on your carotid pulse (neck) and if you really want to bathe in perfume – the nape of your neck, below the hairline, around the brachial pulse and wrists.
My Story: Although I am reviewing Burberry Body here, I must tell you Burberry Body Intense is definitely one of my favourite perfumes. It has been on my list since it was launched in 2011. I really like this perfume a lot. But, I didn’t quite get one until February or March this year which is 9 years of true love😜. You see, I already have an insane number of perfumes, most of which are gifted. I have enough perfumes for four generations to come. That’s why I never ever got to buying or mentioning this one although it’s the second best perfume on my list. But earlier this year, I was looking at credit points and the list of things that I could get from there. I usually select some cookware or pendrive …just about anything that I can get with accrued points. I never let them lapse. This time, I seen this perfume on that list. I jumped excitedly. That is how this baby got added to my will …err….dresser! If I were to actually buy it, I would have preferred the ‘Intense’ version, which in my opinion is just stronger and even more mesmerizing without the apple and tea notes, but the packaging, appearance and olfactory family is just the same as the one I’m reviewing. So yay!

I do believe that the commandment of love comes before any other….but not in the way most of us understand love….
I believe agape love, selfless, sacrificial, genuine love….which does not put the self first is the kind of love one must
…I aspire to emulate….

I am more Christian than Catholic to be honest because i got to all kinds of meetings and churches. But i do have some strong opinions on some controversial topics….but I still believe love trumps those too….
Every day brings troubles of it’s own…
We are here for a short period….the impermanence of life ….the constant reminder of this keeps me going, Fred.
I believe humanity is one of the basics tenets of any religion and that should be a priority…
You really practise that to an extent that is so admirable that I could never compare
……I record my journey and progress here….much of what I write is part of my learning process….but you are sorted and already practise these things and more….I dont know how much of a real woman I am Fred….i feel that’s too heavy a title that doesn’t fit right on my wavering head…..
I agree the church is tainted with the past and I’ve been asked this question at least once everyday…I only hope and pray we all see the light of Christ instead of disregarding science and logic….i think that comes from misinterpretation ….but honestly speaking I am.dumbfounded with the questions the atheists ask me everyday….I think it takes grace and wisdom…..in the spirit to interpret scriptures and all these things correctly….I wear my mask everywhere….but I’m not fearful at all. I do what is required of me by the land and society. That does not mean I don’t have faith….I dont go around poking snakes😉😅😄
