Pricing: It costs INR199 for a 75gms screwtop jar. I think that’s a fair price
Packaging: This face pack is sold in a screwtop plastic jar. The plastic is thick, sturdy and firm. It is of very good quality. I have been using this mask for more than a dozen years. I have dropped these jars so many times. They never crack. I like jars as compared to tubes because in such kind of packaging there is no wastage as you can access every last bit of product.h. That way you’ll be able to scrape the bottom for every last bit.

Physical Attributes: It has a light hued brownish grey colour with an underlying tinge of cool-toned pale yellow infused into a cement kind of consistency and texture. Basically, it’s a thick paste.
Ingredients: multani mitti (Fuller’s earth/mud), Gem (Red ochre), Yasad bhasm (Yasad bhasm), Badam (Prunus amygdalus/almond), Pudina (Mentha arvensis/ mint), Kikar gaund (Acacia arabica), Surajmukhi (Helianthus annus), Paste Base Q.S.

How To Use: Apply a thin layer all over your a thoroughly cleansed face and leave for 15-20minutes, atleast until it is all dry. Rinse your face with plain or cold water and dab dry. I understand the manufacturer recommends applying a thick layer. But that just takes eons to dry within added benefit. I find a thin layer to work just as effective, if not better. That’s just my personal opinion. Plus, you end up using lesser product…..think savings.😉
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly :
I have been using Bio Mud for way over a dozen years and they have been my favourite masks all this while.
Definitely not suitable for sensitive skin. Gives a burning sensation for the first few minutes. I’m accustomed to it and my skin is not overtly sensitive do it works wonders for me.
Biotique is a brand that aims at delivering ayurvedic products backed by scientific expertise. It is an ayurvedic product and the active ingredients cause that tingling sensation.
India is birthplace of ayurveda. There are innumerable ayurvedic mud masks available as loose powders that need mixing and preparing. A readymade paste with ease of application is not really a novelty or USP of Bio Mud as many other brands sell similar ready products but this is definitely a plus point. Hassle free and convenience of use and storage.
No animal testing done. It is dermatologist tested, with no preservatives or chemicals as per their claim. They use natural botanicals that are cultivated, gathered, blended and manufactured in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Definitely gets rid of excess sebum and face gunk.
Clears out clogged pores very effectively.
Tones out oily skin. People with very dry skin should refrain from this product or any mud based packs. Clay is better for dry skin. Clarifies, tones without the drying effect.
Skin feels squeaky clean, soft and thoroughly cleansed because the mud really siphons out oil and other clogged bits.
Tightens pores for a day or two at most. Skin appears naturally taut and beautiful until the effect wears out.
I highly recommend using this or any good mud pack once a week for oily to normal skin.
Has a good shelf life of 3 years.

Verdict: I love mud based face packs especially natural ayurveda ones ….I have been repurchasing Bio Mud for at least one and a half decade because I absolutely love it. Plus, it is so affordable and easy to use. I really like this mask a lot.
