Review of St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Mask

St.Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Mask is a product that can be used as a substitute for hair conditioners when your hair feels dry or lifeless and in need of moisture and nourishment. It hydrates the hair and conditions it from within with the goodness of a unique blend of oils. I think it works best with dry, damaged and frizzy hair. If you already have oily hair or have oiled your hair prior to washing, you don’treally need this product. I use this mask on days I was unable to soak my tresses in oil prior to a hair wash. It helps in detangling hair and makes hair soft and manageable. There are no harmful chemicals such as paraben, sulfates, phthalates or mineral oil in this hair mask. St.Botanica is also a PETA-certified cruelty-free brand.

Pricing: I purchased this one and a half year ago for INR799 which is a discounted price, the actual price being INR1299 back then. Usually, things increase in price. But today this same mask retails at INR1099 for 300ml.

Packaging: The mask is contained in a circular screwtop plastic jar. It is sturdy and good but it may not be the ideal size for travel.

Physical Attributes: This mask feels like any other conditioner where texture is concerned. The consistency is also quite similar but probably slightly thicker than most commercial brands. It is white in colour, easy to access and spread easily.

I have really used this product for over a year so you can trust my review

Ingredients: This mask contains the goodness of Moroccan argan oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Rose oil, Lavender oil and derivatives of Coconut oil amongst other things.

How to use? After washing your hair with shampoo, coat hair from the lengths of your hair with this mask just like you would use a conditioner. You can use it on your scalp as well if you have a dry scalp problem. In that case, gently massage your scalp to ease absorption. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and rinse thoroughly. You don’t need to use a conditioner if you are using a mask.

Pros:

  1. Moisturising and nourishing
  2. Softens hair
  3. Is really great if you don’t oil your hair or have forgotten to oil it
  4. Good ingredients
  5. No sulphates
  6. No mineral oil
  7. No parabens
  8. No pthalates
  9. Vegan
  10. Cruelty free
  11. Not tested on animals
  12. Made in India

Cons:

  1. It could weigh your hair down and make your tresses look flat with no volume if you apply just too much around the scalp especially
  2. It can be a bit pricey without the discounts.

Verdict: This is a good hair mask. But it’s not the holy grail of hair care. I’ll be on the lookout for something better. I dont mind repurchasing this though.

Happy Hair Days To You!
