Review and Swatches: Blue Heaven Matte Elegance Transfer proof liquid Lipsticks

REVIEW : Not many people are aware of this brand – Blue Heaven. Well, it is an Indian brand and they are committed to making cosmetics at an affordable price. These lipsticks I’m reviewing and swatching here cost only INR 105 each {for 6ml}. But guess what? I got them at a discount for just INR 84 which is approximately just one American dollar. And since I just love lipsticks and eye shadows, I bought six out of the twelve shades this range has to offer. The price is just awesome. At this price point, you can afford to own almost every shade and have more variety. The lipsticks are absolutely transfer proof just like all the expensive brands. They’re perfectly matte, which is very trendy these days. They have a small colour palette, not too extensive – offering basic shades from almost every major lipstick colour group though. Well, the only major difference between these babies and their expensive counterparts is that the consistency is rather thin. Some of the shades are runny, like water colours. But, that is not really a problem. If you think it is not opaque enough, you can always layer up or use thicker coats. But, because some of the shades are thinner than many other transfer proof liquid lippies, they are very lightweight which is a plus for many women I know, although that doesn’t really matter to me. There is no fragrance added here. It smells like paint or acetone during application. But that disappears when it dries down. The packaging is very travel friendly and see-through so that’s great to choose a colour in a hurry. Just like most transfer proof lipsticks, you need a sturdy hand to apply this {as is with liquid eyeliner}. And, all transfer proof matte lipsticks have a drying effect on the lips. So that is just a common factor. Remember to use lip balm and don’t use these on already dry or cracked lips.

left to right: shades 5, 7, 8, 9, 10and 11

I purchased shade number 5,7,8,9,10 and 11. You can check out the swatches below. Shade 1, 2 and 3 are all true reds with slight hue difference. Shade 4 is an orange. Shade 5 is a very dark maroon. Shade 6 is a dark mauve or brown-toned mauve. Shade 7 is a medium-light mauve. Shade 8 is a dark true-pink. Shade 9 is a pink toned red. Shade 10 is a brick red shade. Shade 11 is a very light and pale nude buff brown. Shade 12 is a dark brown. You can check out the swatches and descriptions below.

Shade 05

Shade 05 is like a very very deep maroon. It is not for the faint-hearted and looks very goth on me. I like it a lot, but it’s not an everyday look for me. It is a very bold and dark shade.

Shade 07

Shade 7 is a medium-light mauve shade that will probably suit almost anyone. It is an everyday colour and looks beautiful. I really love this shade.

Shade 08

Shade 8 is my favourite. It is a beautiful dark pink shade. This shade will suit almost anyone too
{as long as you are okay with dark colours}. This pink is a true pink without any violet or brown undertones.

Shade 10

Shade 10 is a reddish brick colour. It should suit most skin tones.

Shade 11

Shade 11 is a very pale almost non-existent kinda beige shade that I really dislike. If you have porcelain skin and are very fair, this may suit you and look very natural on you. But it will definitely not look good on darker skin. You ca n probably mix this shade up and get a decent colour but otherwise, it’s just plain boring and has a washed out feel.

I hope this review helps you make an informed decision. All these lipsticks were purchased by me for my own personal use. This review is not sponsored and I do not promote any brand or products. I have penned down my personal experience and opinions here.
