Our Father

This is the most concise prayer of all times. It is a very powerful prayer that I lovingly recite quite often.

The……’Our Father’

  1. Our Father in heaven, holy be your name. {reminder to approach God as a loving father; includes worship}
  2. Your kingdom come; your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. {praying for love, peace, honesty, kindness, patience etc….all the traits of God’s kingdom to be established all around us}
  3. Give us this day our daily bread. {self explanatory}
  4. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. {seeking forgiveness and granting forgiveness which equals to a guilt free, grudge free…aka peaceful life.}
  5. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from The evil One. {seeking protection from temptation, sin and evil.}
  6. Amen. {translates to ‘….and so it shall be’.}

The question of, “How do we pray?” is one that is often asked and one that was posed thousands of years ago by the disciples. In Luke 11:1-4, when one of Jesus’ disciples ask Him, “Lord, teach us to pray,” Jesus replied by giving us this beautifully holistic prayer
